About Nelleke
Sociable, creative, spontaneous and enthusiastic: this is how my friends and family describe me, and I gladly join in on this ;-). I like to think outside the box, different than usual, from a unique and humorous perspective.
Since 2016, the coveted degree of "Creative Photodesign" has been hanging on my wall at home. During this programme, I learned the tricks of what I like most: telling your story using images.
My portfolio shows how I have captured the personal stories of all kinds of different couples. I always combine my love of light, colour, emotion and the right timing, so that each photo tells a part of your personal story.

Step 1. Introduction
After having a brief discussion via e-mail, we meet each other for a conversation in which we freely discuss all your wishes and expectations. You can also look at some of my sample albums and ask any questions you may have. I explain my modus operandi and tell you what I'll do during your big day.
After the conversation, you decide whether you like me ;-) and if my way of photographing suits you. You receive a summary of our conversation, along with a deposit invoice. As soon as the deposit has been paid, I won't run off: I am then permanently booked as your photographer, together with my second shooter!

Step 3. The big day
When your day has finally arrived, Eliana, my regular second shooter, and I work together so we don't miss any single moment. We capture every cheerful smile, moving tear and funny grimace. Imagine how great it will be to see the touched look of your love when he or she saw you for the first time, but also the expression of the rest of your family at the same time. Because we're a duo, we are more flexible and can capture your day in an even better way. Early that morning, for example, you'll both have a photographer with you. This way, we can record every single part of the festivities, starting at the beginning of the day!
Step 5. Done!
... and now the album is ready! You can come and collect the album at my place so we can together look back at your big day. Would you rather receive the album by post? No problem! And if friends, family or you want to order any extra pictures to put on display on the mantlepiece, then I'll be happy to take care of that for you.

Step 2. Planning
I receive the final planning of your wedding day along with all important information and we keep in touch via e-mail. You will receive the invoice for the remaining amount approximately two weeks prior to the wedding.
Step 4. Hold on...
As soon as we're home, we first load all the photos onto the computer and create a backup of the files. I never throw away any photos. Then I get started by making a strict selection of your photos. Afterwards, I edit the colour, contrast and lighting of the selected photos. I like natural colours and a natural look and therefore do not use filters or any other 'funny stuff' during this process. In exceptional cases, I can remove objects from a photograph on request, but in principle I do not do any cutting and pasting in the photos.
Within six weeks, you will receive a package with the photos in high resolution on a USB stick. Meanwhile, I also digitally prepare the album and send you a link so that you can view the album. Would you like to make any changes before the album is printed? Then you can leave your comments online. Once I've taken notice, I will make the desired changes. You then get to see the modified album again. I will only order the album once you are completely satisfied.

Nominatie Bruidsfotoaward 2019
The ceremony that was held here was so beautiful. I saw the light fall through the windows and therefore asked the bride and groom to take some time after the service to enjoy the sunshine. This photo is very special to me as a photographer, because the sun rays felt like an extra "blessing" during this beautiful day.

Masters of Dutch Wedding Photograpy Ronde 19 2018
When I arrived at the bride’s home, I became completely enthusiastic about... the floor. Yes, the floor! Her stone floor had a spectacular gloom and reflection. For a long time, I laid on my stomach in the middle of the room, waiting for this beautiful moment. The sister of the bride rearranged her dress a minute before. Love it!

This is what the wedding couple had to say about this picture: "Super cozy, the bridesmaids also went along during the shoot. It’s a little uncomfortable, all those photos. Especially when 'the photographer' said: just give each other a kiss. Wow, those faces, I really had to laugh. When they realized that I was talking to the wedding couple and not to the sisters, I was able to capture this photo."

The rings were brought in with this cool looking car in the foreground. The boys completely went mad with the car after the ceremony. The repetition of the wedding car in the background completes the story as far as I am concerned. It’s a cliché, but true nevertheless: boys will be boys ;)
Eervolle vermelding Bruid
I participated in the Bridal Photo Award competition for the third time. It’s a great competition with lots of photo submissions, which are reviewed by a professional jury. On the 5th of December I got a call: I was nominated with not 1, but 2 (!!!) photos! How crazy is that! Two special photos. One of the beautiful bride Rebecca who was absolutely stunning. The wind that was playing with her hair made this picture complete.
Eervolle vermelding Family & Friends
This photo is very special to me. Shot at the wedding of my dear sister Leanne. She was already on her way to the car with Coen to leave the party when she saw Mamma. As if it really dawned on her that the party was over and she would not be home with my parents for a while. She turned away from Coen to give Mom a big kiss. Fantastic moment to experience as a sister.

To me this is a remarkable photo, which shows the emotion of such a day. Happiness with tears. For Martin, it is a lot harder to look at the photo. It is a beautiful photo, but it was also the moment when he and Arne really realized that they would see each other much less often, because of our marriage. The distance is too great. That makes it very emotional for him. Even now.

The election of the Bridal Photo & Film Awards 2017 was organized for the thirteenth time in a row. Wedding photographer Nelleke Stark won the honorable mention in the "Family & Friends" category. Out of almost 2,000 entries, the international independent jury of the event nominated 80 photos in different categories at the beginning of this year.

I had the honour to capture the wedding of my dear friends. We went in to a green field. The bride was waiting for her husband (he was looking for a three. You know what mean) to return. This moments of waiting are precious on a weddingday because there is always a lot of emotions going on. My eye catched the stunning light around my precious friend and I captured this moment. When te bride was waiting, i saw this stunning backlight around her, and captured this moment.
Wedaward 2016
This image was taken just after the groom met his beautiful bride. The couple wanted to hit the road, but first they had to face one of the biggest challenges of the day: The car. With her huge dress, it definitely was one of the most hilarious moments.
The white dress and the white clean car fascinates me, and then: there was that gorgeous smile. All the goods in one shot.
Wedaward 2016
I always work with a second shooter. I could not make this picture without a second shooter. She was hidden in the background with her phone so we could communicate for the best pose. In this photo the groom is running towards his beautiful bride to hold her tight. The clean water was a gift, a few minutes later there was no reflection anymore because of the breeze.

This beautiful window belongs to a small church in the Netherlands. Everytime I saw this window I wished for a bride and groom to make the picture perfect.
Finally, the day came that i had the change to capture my lovely couple in this church. Before the church services there were a few minutes for hugs and cuddles. Why not on the best spot on a wooden couch?
A little time for hugging, laughing and talking helps couples to relax and enjoy their wonderful day more.
